![]() ![]() And, Xero is a great company, I've had to do a size exchange and a warranty replacement and they made both completely painless, so really very little risk. ![]() If you're looking for boots I've been very happy with the Xcursion Fusions. I'd consider all of them trail/hiking shoes, not boots. Honestly I'd recommend them all as long as you're using them on the appropriate terrain. I wouldn't try a 14er in them but they're very comfortable for local trails. I also have the Xcursion Fusions (what can I say, I've become a bit of a fanboy, and Xeros are a great deal if you catch a sale) and they can go anywhere, while the Daylites are totally fine for more casual trails. They're advertised as an alternative to bulky hiking boots if you're not on demanding trails and I think that's totally fair. The Daylite Hikers are very comfortable but not particularly rugged. They actually require slightly different form since they're not as flexible, but again, the extra protection might be worth it. All in all, less ground feel but more pebble protection. They're also just bulkier, like thicker padding all around. With its wide, anatomically appropriate toe box, zero drop platform, and flexible sole, this boot offers you a. The DayLite Hiker Fusion is perfect for day hikes, multi-day treks, or even for casual wear around town. The rubber might actually be stiffer too. The Xero DayLite Hiker Fusion is a foot-shaped minimalist hiking boot that allows your foot to bend, flex, and move naturally. I think they're only advertised as being 1/2 - 1 mm thicker, but it's very noticeable. I just bought the Terraflexes to see what a slightly thicker shoe would feel like. I've bruised the ball of both feet on a pebble while wearing them, although since I've only been running in minimalist footwear for a year it's entirely possible my form just isn't ideal. They're awesome for dirt trails and decent in mud, but depending on your experience and foot toughness they might be too thin for rocky trails. They're my first ever minimalist trail shoes so that might have had something to do with it. ![]() They felt a bit awkward on my feet at first but quickly started to feel natural and now they feel great. The Mesa Trails are very light and fairly thin, lots of ground feel. I've had the Mesa Trails about a year, Daylite Hiker Fusions maybe 9 months, and Terraflex for a month, so you can assume proportional amounts of experience. ![]()
